Abuja — Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) yesterday said what Nigeria needs most at this time is electoral revolution instead of violent revolution that is being advocated by some opposition political parties in the country.
It also pledged to offer technical help to the Government of President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, especially in areas of poverty eradication, power generation and the re-engineering of the micro-economy to generate employment and remediate growing unemployment among university graduates.
In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the PPA, Ben Onyechere, PPA said, "we would rather advocate an electoral revolution than a violent one. Through an electoral revolution, the people of Nigeria can drive away the PDP from all facet of power."
The PPA spokesman who chided PDP for describing the call of the opposition political parties as 'ranting' said, "the country is in dire need of an urgent reverse of the decadent leadership trends because the country is certainly drifting towards anarchy and nobody can deny this.
To ensure that the country is moved out of its present dwindling fortunes, PPA said it is offering to help by infusing its remedial technicalities which are capable of helping the Yar'Adua government to achieve eradication of unemployment in the country.
"The technical outlay is formed to re-engineer the dilapidated micro-economic system which in effect will generate employment opportunities. We have our own method and approach which we cannot continue to talk about in the pages of newspaper.
"The PPA is prepared to offer an unreserved technical assistance to Yar'Adua government at the federal level in the spirit of Government of National Unity not withstanding that Yar'Adua aides will block the help that we want to offer," he said.
