Kampala — He was introduced in a teaser: "Guess who is coming to town? He wears a Zorro mask, his middle name is Sylvester and he has had his hair recently cut off." The clues were just enough for his identification. Zain confesses that on the first day the adverts ran, 30% of the responses were correct.

On the second day, 50% of the answers were correct and on the third day, it was 100%. And today, it is no longer a secret that African American R&B music legend, Robert Sylvester Kelly a.k.a R. Kelly, will rock Kampala on January 29, 2010, courtesy of Zain Uganda. R Kelly was officially unveiled to the press on Monday at a media briefing at Silk Lounge.

The R. Kelly I believe concert dubbed is set to be an awe-inspiring affair with Zain promising to pull all stops to ensure that Ugandans have the experience of a lifetime. The singer with nine albums under his belt and five Grammy awards will perform live at Lugogo Cricket Oval in a show where Zain expects to attract 40,000 fans from Uganda and across the region.

The widely popular artiste with a career spanning over two decades will be performing in East Africa for the very first time and for the third time in Africa.

"Zain is proud to bring R Kelly closer to his fans in Uganda," said Levi Nyakundi, Zain's Marketing Manager-Consumer and Pay Phone.

"Having been at the top of the industry for two decades, he has a wide cross over appeal and a vast array of fans. He has something for everyone, from smooth ballads to chart topping dance tunes, the sort of creativity and diversity that we at Zain espouse," he added.

In a totally new approach, Zain has introduced a new promotion where their customers will determine which of the local artistes performs alongside R Kelly. Twelve artistes have been selected to participate in the competition where only five with the highest number of votes will share the stage with the R&B singer.
