A yet unknown number of people are feared dead in an accident that has occurred at Mabira along the Kampala-Jinja highway.
The commuter taxi was full of passengers but it is not yet clear how many have died or survived.
According to Mubende RDC Steven Bewawo who was at the scene of the accident, the head-on collision is believed to have resulted from over speeding.
The taxi was pushed off the road into a ditch by the truck carrying bags of cement and police is trying to retrieve the wreckage.
This comes just a day after eight people were killed in a bus accident along the Mityana- Mubende road on Wednesday afternoon.
The Kampala bound bus that was heading from Fort Portal over turned, leaving at least 35 other people seriously injured.
