Angola: Over 200 Ex-Refugees Return Home

11 November 2009

Kuito — At least 212 national citizens who were living as refugees in foreign countries were received in the central Bié province, ANGOP has learnt.

They came from Zambia, South Africa and Zimbabwe and are under the care of the provincial Assistance and Social Welfare department, informed the local director, Isabel Afonso Chaguedela.

The source said that the institution is still working with churches, chieftains and NGOs to find their relatives.

The ex-refugees have been receiving foodstuff, zinc sheet, mattresses and domestic utensils for their reintegration into the society.
