The Bakau nawettan competition has reached its climax after the two league finalists were confirmed on Tuesday.
Ron Mango and Unique FM (formerly Julangel FC) have proved to be the two most successful teams in this year's nawettan event after both sides battled through thick and thin to reach the final.Ron Mango, last year?s knock-out champions, were the first to earn a final berth after downing impressive Mamakoto United 3-1 in the semi-final clash, and Unique FM later joined them after beating Katchically United 2-1 in their semi-final replay match on Tuesday.
The two sides? first meeting ended in goalless draw and due to nightfall, the Organizing Committee was forced to reschedule the tie to another day in order to break the tie. But it was the Unique FM side whose tactics worked well in the rescheduled cracker as they comfortably downed the Katchically outfit to reach their first league final in many years.
Meanwhile the knock-out tournament in the same town is nearing its climax with the prospective finalists set to be known today. The winners in Ron Mango v Milan semi-final match, which was in progress at the time going to press last evening, will meet in the final, the winners in the other semi-final tie which pits Vidar FC against Bantankoto in typical derby clash today at the Bakau mini-stadium.
