Gambia: Court Discharges 34 Ladies

The Kanifing Magistrates Court presided over by Principal Magistrate Joseph Ikpala, recently acquitted and discharged 34 ladies who were accused of being rogues and vagabonds by the police prosecution.

They were discharged after a no case submission filed by their lawyers. The police prosecution had claimed that on the 11th of October 2009, along the Bertil Harding Highway, the ladies were found soliciting men for prostitution.
