The senior Magistrate of Kanifing Magistrate Court, Abdoulie Mbake, recently remarked that the elders of this country will not give way to criminals.
He stated that destructive tendencies would not be allowed to take root. Magistrate Mbake made these remarks while presiding over a criminal case involving three men, Momodou Camara, Malick Conateh, and Ebrima Njie.
The trio is facing trial for conspiracy to commit felony and house breaking. The Magistrate also stated that the entertainment centre built around the Westfield monument should be closed. He added that the monument was not meant for the criminals, whom, he said, now use it for their own purposes.
Malick Conateh, the 2nd accused person, in his defence, had told the court that he was with his friends at the monument between the hours of 3am-4am the night before he was arrested. The trio were said to have broken into the house of one Dr Oramis Sosa at Old Jeswang and stolen a variety of items valued at D51,000.
