Gambia: Woman Docked for Wilful Damage

Chambo Manneh, a Guinean woman, was on Tuesday arraigned at the Bundung Magistrates Court before Magistrate Olagubutu Kayode, on charges of willful damage and threatening violence.

According to the particulars of the offence, the accused on the 28th of October 2009 at Bakoteh, unlawfully and wilfully broke the glass door of one Fatou Dukureh. She was also said to have on the same day and place, threatened to kill one Ahdijah Kargbo with a knife thereby committed an offence. Shee pleaded not guilty on both counts.

The matter was adjourned to 18th November 2009 due to the fact that the prosecutorÂ's witnesses were not present. Bail was also granted to the accused in the sum of D20,000 with two sureties.
