The president of Somalia 's Puntland State government has strongly condemned the killing of 1st magistrate court judge in Bosasso and a lawmaker serving in the Puntland's parliament in Garowe.
Unknown assailants killed high court judge Sheikh Mohamed Abdi Aware on Wednesday evening in the commercial port city of Bossasso while a gunman shot dead a Somali lawmaker named Ibrahim Elmi Warsame in Garowe town, the regional administrative capital.
President Abdirahman Mohammed Farole termed the killings as heinous and act of inhuman that has robbed the people of Puntland, great persons who served their people with much enthusiasm.
He sent his government's condolences to the families and friends of the two slain officials.
President Farole urged the people Puntland to cooperate with security forces in ensuring the security of the region.
Security forces have arrested three men in connection with the murder of the judge.
The forces have also tightened security in Garowe and Bossasso.
Authorities in Puntland are suspecting the insecurity in some of its territories is caused by the infiltration of some militant ruminants that are fighting the fragile UN-backed Somali government in central and southern Somalia.
