Prime Minister Mizengo Pinda starts an 11-day tour of Lindi and Mtwara regions today.
A statement issued yesterday by his office said he would visit all districts of the two regions.
He will start by visiting Somanga village in Kilwa District, Lindi Regions. After receiving district and regional reports, Mr Pinda will also be briefed on problems facing the power project and later address a public rally. In Lindi Region, he is scheduled to, among other things, inspect water projects, seed farms, irrigation schemes and a biogas project.
He will also inaugurate an agriculture laboratory, secondary school laboratories, a maternity ward and administration block in Ruangwa District.
In Lindi Region he will spend five days which will take him to Liwale, Nachingwea, Ruangwa and Lindi districts. He is expected to conclude the tour next Wednesday before heading to Masasi District to begin the tour of Mtwara Region.
In Mtwara, he will lay the foundation stone for a cashewnut plant in Masasi called High Quality Products and inspect paddy farms in Mwena valley.
Mr Pinda is expected to visit a water centre at Mkunya before being briefed on the Ruvuma valley irrigation scheme.
At the cashewnut processing plant of Agrofocus, the premier will be shown a cashewnut processing machine which has been made locally. In Tandahimba he is expected to inaugurate an out patient department (OPD) building at the district hospital before heading to the Naliendele Agricultural Research Centre.
He will also visit a power production project at Naliendele.
During his tour of Mtwara Region the Prime Minister will visit Nanyumbu, Masasi, Newala, Tandahimba and Mtwara districts.He is expected to wind up his tour on November 24.
