Charles Taylor's testimony was cut short for the second day in a row, as prosecutors asked for more time to "rearrange strategies" for the cross-examination of the former Liberian president on trial for his alleged role in crimes committed during Sierra Leone's brutal conflict.
Today's adjournment follows from yesterday's developments, when Special Court for Sierra Leone judges refused to allow the prosecution to "introduce new evidence" in Mr. Taylor's cross-examination. Instead, the judges asked the prosecution to submit a formal written application to justify why new evidence that had not been part of the prosecution's case – nor part of Mr. Taylor's direct-examination needed to be admitted.
Yesterday, Mr. Taylor's defense team had called the efforts to introduce "fresh evidence" a "trial by ambush." Court was adjourned to allow the prosecution to "rearrange" their "strategies" and to continue their cross-examination of the accused today. When court resumed this morning, lead prosecution counsel, Ms. Brenda Hollis, requested an adjournment until Monday as the prosecution needed more time to plan. The application was granted by the judges.
The accused former Liberian president is facing charges of war crimes, crimes against humanity and other serious violations of international humanitarian law committed by Revolutionary United Front (RUF) rebels in Sierra Leone from November 30 1996. Mr. Taylor is alleged to have supported the rebel forces in Sierra Leone through the supply of arms and ammunition in return for blood diamonds, to have been in a position of control ofver Sierra Leonean rebels so that he could have prevented or punished their crimes during the conflict, and to have joined with them in a joint criminal plan — to install a friendly government in Sierra Leone and exploit its natural resources – which involved the commission of international crimes. The former Liberian president has denied the charges.
Mr. Taylor's cross-examination continues on Monday.

Songs are made according those timings and slowly they fade away. So shall this wonderful melodious song fade with this protagonist, Charles Ghankay Taylor. We have heard so many songs that create memories, but all have died away to the ears of we the listeners. If we hear the songs of the Great King of Pop, Michael Jackson, such songs can energize even the souls of the dead.
Such a song came when men and women of Liberia lost their prestige as human beings. But,when the wordings came as,"there're more good people than bad people in Liberia, this time the good people must win". You saw what the good people did to Taylor. He was forced to a waiting plane to take him to Nigeria, where he remain for the good people to decide his faith. That faith today,is in the dock. How about that? Is this not another good melodious song that we the good people can be proud of? Shammmme!
I will be brief and straight to the point. Firstly, under no circumstances I will waste my precious time engaging you because you have no idea what you are talking about. There are no Sierra Leone judges on the bench. Secondly, when your master Steven Rapp announced to the World the billion dollars Taylor has in foreign bank accounts will be seized and distributed to the victims of the Sierra Leone war, you were one of those SHOUTING YES! YES!! YES!!! Logically, what I wrote in my posting was the money Rapp talked about is an elusion; it was one of those prosecution lies that were concocted. As for million of dollars that is use to prosecute this case is sure money. X44, go and tell those poor people that were wounded in Sierra Leone that they don’t need any money, I don’t need to hear it, I am living very comfortably.
Lastly, X44 do you now who the real bandits are? let me tell you who are the real bandits, T. Kabbah, David Crane, Steven Rapp, Tony Blair and George Bush.
Have you got any "precious time" in your life? You mad liar! You have got nothing to boast of to any Sierra Leonean. Your life style at present is not better than any Sierra Leonean. Comfortable living in my BUTT! You scare me with your nortorious lies. You're the type of unwanted guests on this site that make me feel happy in my response.
Zota, are you sure you were talking about the money that Steven Rapp accused Bandit Taylor of having? Read your wordings that you wrote. "This is TOTAL NONSENSE,the prosecution is in disarray this trial should stop NOW and give the money that is use to pay this ineffective prosecution team to those poor and suffering people of Sierra Leone. Not today, tomorrow or next year will this persecution win this case".
Zota, a chicken can go mad with fear, just by seeing your face. Because you lie too much and your sense of recollecting your lies is limited, which make you prone to more lies in the future. I told you before to go rest at your Zota center in Logan Town and have your face tainted with your beer seed club beer. Are you sure that T. Kabba,David Crane,Steve Rapp, Tony Blair and George Bush are bandits? Well, good enough,at least they're not in the dock like your man Taylor. I want you to keep quiet when you see my posts on this site. But luckily for God's gift you have got your Freedom of speech, which allows me to still keep you on this site so you can continue to talk your "NONSENSE".
I'll continue to say this...your man Taylor will be jailed for 150 years. If this fail to happen, you should cast me out of Sierra Leone, the Country that I love so dearly in my heart."Thy cause to defend and to stand for thy right; All that we have be ever thine own,Land that we love our Sierra Leone"."I promise to defend her honour and good name". Do you have any questions for me,big Joe?
X44,
I am now convienced that you are a complete nut. You have issues. Do yourself a favor. Check into a mental institution to be treated with Prozac.
Bye.
"I am now convienced that you are a complete nut".Your first mistake, this is the reason I'm telling you to back-off whenever you see my posts on this site. But you're failing to obey.So happily I'm ready to take on you.
Zota, you're not a psychoanalyst,...I am. At least I can tell what you wanted to write. You promise to be brief. Well, I don't want you to be brief I want you to be PANTI. How can you recommend that I be treated with PROZAC? Prozac is used to reduce another and also for the treatment of depression. Surely, you've registered yourself on this site as a complete PSYCHOPATH.
Eventhough you don't know the real name, as you recommended, I'm now checking into a mental Institution to see a PSYCHIATRIST, to diagnose and recommend a treatment for me. The only thing I'll love to write to you,is that you're amongst those SONS OF SEA COOKS. Come back for more recipe. I'll be in the kitchen.
After 10's of millions of dollars spent to prosecute this one man. You mean to tell me that after only one day the prosecution has to resort to " cheating". An attempt to bring in new evidence after they have closed their case is attempting to cheat plain and simple. Maybe the prosecutor never listened to the famous song " Nobody can stop Ghankay"
