Abuja — The Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Dr. Christopher Anyanwu, has pledged the determination of the Bureau to ensuring an effective electric power reform for Nigeria. A press statement issued yesterday by the Head of Public Communications of the Bureau, Chigbo Anichebe, said that the BPE boss spoke at the second leg of the workshop on electric power market rules for stakeholders, organised by the BPE, in Lagos yesterday. Anyanwu maintained that because of the desire to have an acceptable power reform in the country, the Bureau sought the best, to help in the reform, including the design of the market rules. He, therefore, charged all power sector participants, operators and stakeholders to take maximum advantage of the workshop to achieve the purpose. The objectives of the workshop includes; to increase awareness of the market rules, explain the rules and bring clarity to their application and implementation, provide a forum for the successor companies and other stakeholders, to express their concerns and subsequently resolve issues regarding market rules and provide the successor companies and stakeholders with support for the successful implementation of the market rules.
