Banjul — Magistrate Lamin George, of the Bundung Magistrates Court, recently convicted and sentenced one Bakary Gassama, a student, after he was found guilty of breaking into a building and committing a felony.

According to the particulars of offence, in July this year, at Nema-Su in Kanifing, Gassama broke into the offices of Alieu Bun Abi Talib Islamic School. Delivering his judgement, Magistrate George advised him to be of good behaviour. He told the convict that he did not wish to send him to jail as a student.

He thus sentence him to recognizance, to provide a surety who will provide his/her Gambian ID card and deter him (the convict) from committing such an offence within two years.
