Banjul — Assan Mboob, a renowned Senegalese mbalax star, is currently on a promotional tour of the country; to better promote his upcoming album called
'Halel' a wollof parlane meaning 'Children'.
This nine track-album, from which promo singles are about to hit air waves, was recorded in one of the finest recording in the Senegalese city of Dakar. Having released almost nine albums with his famous band called Â'Mbouba JalyÂ' the Senegalese star is expected to launch this upcoming album on the 16th of Novermber 2009 in Dakar.
In an interview with WhatÂ's On, the Senegalese star pointed out that this new album featur3w some hits tunes like Â' LambajiÂ', Â'African UnityÂ', and Â'ValentineÂ' among others. Acording to him, the Gambian music industry is growing steadily and he intends to launch this album in The Gambia on the 12th of December 2009 at the Yuna Village Garden Resort.
This, he said, will be followed by a grand peformance to held at Jokor Westfield the following day, December 13th. Â'I came to the Gambian because we regard The Gambia as good market, considering the music we play. Thi country means a lot to me i. We really recognize the fact that Gambians appreciate our music, Senegalese also like Gambian musicians, especially Jaliba Kuyateh. Besides, the peoples of these two countries are one,Â" he said.
