Tunisia: Country Hosts a Conference on Social Security, Health and Work Safety

Tunis — A national conference on social security, health and work safety held on Wednesday in Hammamet under the theme "Pensions in Tunisia".

Several representatives of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Solidarity and Tunisians abroad, the General Union of Tunisian Workers (UGTT) and the CEOs of the National Retirement and Social Welfare Fund (CNRPS), the National Health Insurance Fund (CNAM) and the National Social Security Fund (CNSS), took part in the event.

Organized by UGTT's department of social welfare, health and work safety from November 11 to 14, the conference program includes panels on "the Assessment Plan Medicare, "the situation of pension plans in Tunisia", "the provisions governing occupational injuries and illnesses in private and public sectors" and "communicable diseases in the workplace".

Participants will also focus on the suggestions and recommendations made by the national union's structures, about health and safety at work as well as the prospect of pensions and welfare in Tunisia.
