As a security measure, there will be no procession through Kampala streets but the World Cup trophy will finally be paraded at Lugogo Cricket oval this morning. "The value of this trophy is immeasurable," Coca-Cola Uganda brand manager Maggie Kigozi said while explaining the decision not to hold a procession as the trophy makes its way from Serena Hotel to Lugogo.

The coveted trophy arrived yesterday night aboard a chartered plane before it was taken to Serena for a VIP viewing session. Another session for invited guests is due this morning at Serena Hotel before the trophy is taken to Lugogo. Over 6,000 free tickets have been given out to the public for today's fiesta. "It was our wish to have as many people as possible," Kigozi noted. "I believe all the fans at Lugogo will have a chance to take souvenir pictures with the trophy. "What we need; is people to follow instructions and observe time."

GNL, Obsessions, Grace Nakimera, Cindy, Ragga Dee, Weasle and Radio have been lined up to perform. "To watch the performances, all one has to do is buy a bottle of coke at Shs500," Kigozi noted. The first round of the 52-nation African tour ends early next month in Cape Town, shortly before the 2010 Fifa World Cup draws.
