UN Food Agency said high food prices persist in the developing world and 31 countries need emergency assistance.
"For the world's poorest countries that invest up to 80% of their budget in agriculture, the food price crisis is far from over", FAO's deputy Director-General Hafez Ghanem said.
Investment in Agriculture in developing countries must be a "global priority", he added.
"Though food prices came down since recent riots, wheat and corn prices have gone up and the exported rice price has been even higher than before the crisis", according to a report of the UN Food Agency.
The FAO holds a summit on food security in Roma from Monday. Togo President, Faure Gnassingbe, will attend the summit.
