A guard of honour was mounted for each ambassador by the personnel of the State Guards Batallion at State House gate, before being ushered into present their letters of credential. First to present his credential to the Gambian leader was the Saudi ambassador, His Excellency Abdel Aziz Ben Mohamed Al-Ayfane. He told waiting reporters shortly after presenting his credential that he was honoured to have been received by President Jammeh.

He said The Gambia?s longstanding bilateral relationship with Saudi Arabia is one that is known to everybody, describing the ties as excellent. He underscored the special relationship between President Jammeh and the King of Saudi, His Majesty Abdallah Bin Abdal-Aziz Al Saud.

He further indicated that the two countries are working towards strengthening the bond of the existing bilateral ties.
