For the second time in as many games, the Uganda national cricket team will pursue their dream of lifting the inaugural ICC Intercontinental Shield Cup with an away fixture scheduled for early 2010 in United Arab Emirates.

The national cricket team will look to build their impressive win over Bermuda in August when they travel to UAE for the tour that starts on January 20. It includes a four-day game plus a One Day International (ODI).

"I think that it's important that we won our first game which augurs well for confidence. It's a cushion that we can use as a springboard to get the final next year," assistant captain Davis Arinaitwe told Daily Monitor.

Arinaitwe was man-of-series in 7-wicket victory over Bermuda during the four-day game before opening batsman Roger Mukasa scored a maiden ton to win the single ODI.

"We don't know much about the nature of wickets in Dubai but I have been watching the on-going series between Pakistan and New Zealand where they have appeared flat," Arinaitwe said. Uganda will wrap up the round-robin series with Namibia visiting in September 2010.
