Tunis — A meeting was held on Friday at "La Maison des Exportateurs", by Centre for the Promotion of Exports (CEPEX) on ways to "export opportunities in the Hungarian market".

Mr. Zoltan Fodor, Economic and Commercial Adviser of the Embassy of Hungary presented the market situation of his country, indicating that priority sectors of international cooperation include biotechnology, computer science, electrical industries, automotive industry, shared service centers, logistics centers and spa tourism.

For his part, Mr. Tibor Kecskes, Hungary's Ambassador to Tunisia, expressed the desire to facilitate the access of Tunisian businessmen to the Hungarian market in order to take advantage of the potential and market opportunities.

He recommended considering projects and mechanisms that can enhance Tunisian-Hungarian cooperation and partnership. He noted that Tunisia has enormous potential in the renewable energy sector which can in his opinion, represent a successful partnership between two countries.

Tunisia exports to Hungary products including clothing (ready-to-wear), aluminum products, dates and filtering equipements.

The trade volume between the two countries reached 113 million dinars in 2008, 107 million dinars for imports and 6 million dinars for exports.
