Abuja — The Oduduwa Peoples Congress(OPC), that has been associated for long with thuggery and violenta, has been described as a peaceful and a socio-cultural organisation set up to promote the rich cultural heritage of its people.

The vice-president, Comrade Kazeem Badmus disclosed this in Abuja during his two-day working mission with the Federal Capital Coordinator of the organisation.Kazeem said: "Let us come together and revive the tarnished image of the OPC because many people are of the opinion that this organisation is a violent one and full of miscreants, whereas it is an organization set up to promote the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba people. More importantly, it is a non-tribal congress, so we denounce any form of violence associated with this organisation".

Giving an admonition message to the Yoruba community in Abuja, he urged them to shun violence and know that other tribes, especially foreigners are watching and appreciating their cultural heritage.Receiving the vice-president's entourage, the FCT coordinator, Comrade Oluwasegun James, thanked them for the timely visit while assuring that the FCT chapter was ready to work together to bring back the lost glory of the organisation.
