Musa BM Bojang, a court interpreter attached to the Bundung Magistrates Court, recently gave his testimony as a prosecution witness in the ongoing criminal case involving one Muhammed Basiru Deen.

The interpreter was testifying before Magistrate Lamin George of the Bundung Magistrates Court. In his testimony, he said on the 19th of August 2009, he was in Courtroom Number 1, and the accused was arraigned before Principal Magistrate Kayode Olajabutu. The interpreter narrated that after the prosecutor had called his witness and the magistrate had granted an application for the case to be adjourned, the accused raised his finger and declared that he had something to say to the court.

The witness said the accused then denied committing the offence for which he had been arraigned, and further stated that the country is under a dictatorship, and described the magistrate and the police as witches. The interpreter said the principal magistrateÂ's orderly then stood up and warned him to stop. The accused is now standing trial for the offence relating to judicial proceeding. The case continues today, 16 November 2009.
