Abuja — Fifa vice president and Chairman, Youth Tournament Organising Committee for the just concluded Fifa Under-17 World Cup Nigeria 2009, Jack Warner has expressed appreciation to the country's Sports Minister and Chairman National Sports Commission, Sani Ndanusa.
In a letter of commendation addressed to the Minister of Sports, Jack Warner thanked Ndanusa for the cooperation and support at ensuring the successful hosting of the Youth tournament in Nigeria , in spite of daunting challenges at the onset.
While applauding the professionalism displayed by Ndanusa cum his determination to show Nigeria 's capability, Warner in his letter further stated that Fifa had been vindicated in its decision "to stay the course with your country as host for this prestigious youth tournament.
"In you, Nigeria has a treasure and one in whom they can be proud. It was my pleasure to work with you to ensure a successful tournament, one which culminated in seeing the host reach the final, in spite of the many challenges both on and off the field", thus Jack Warner stated.
Warner departs Nigeria after coordinating activities of the 13th Fifa cadet championship that was won by Switzerland after beating the Golden Eaglets 1-0.
