Abuja — President Umaru Musa Yar'adua yesterday charged the Judiciary to fine-tune the administration of justice system that would guarantee improved access to justice by all Nigerians in the country.
The judges, he noted are known for their impartiality and been principled in the discharge of their duties and stressed the need for consistency of judgments by higher courts; simplification of court room procedures, and the ex-peditious resolution of matters.
Speaking at the 2009 all Nigeria Judges Conference held in Abuja, the president praised the judiciary for acting as a true partner to the other arms of Government in stabilizing democracy and giving Nigerians cause for renewed hope in the country.
Yar'adua pledged that his administration would make the observance of the Rule of Law a corner stone of its conduct of business.
The Administrator of the National Judicial Institute, Justice Umaru Eri said that democracy is the best thing that has happened to Nigeria since its existence, and that its beauty lies in the strict adherence to constitutionalism and the rule of law.
