Nigerians have been advised to trust their Football Federation leadership. FIFA President, Mr. Joseph Blatter said that is the only way the game can move forward in the country.
He said that it is wrong for football followers in the country to have distrust on their leaders, who are striving to move the game forward.
Drawing his inference from the recent furore that evolved the age eligibility of Golden Eaglets captain Fortune Chukwudi in the just concluded FIFA U-17 World cup, the soccer boss said football development would only be faster on the level of trust and discipline.
He said that people should stop doubting the sincerity of their leaders in the game "the game of football is built on discipline, trust and education, and we at FIFA have learn to trust Africans, Nigeria inclusive, we have decided to be giving them more responsibility, and they have not disappointed us. I am always sad when people asked me the question of age eligibility of players, especially Nigeria players.
I do ask why is it now, that the team is doing well. Why had people not stood up to question the boys' ages when they were not doing well. This players and officials need all the encouragement and support, because they are the future of the game in this continent," he stressed.
