Tunisia: Carthage Theatre Days Holds Conference On "What Future for Theater in the World?"

Tunis — Within the framework of the 14th edition of the Carthage Theatre Days (JTC) an international conference was held on Monday under the theme "what future for the theatre in the world?".

In his opening address, Mr. Abderraouf El Basti, Minister of Culture and Heritage Preservation stressed the importance of Theatre in Tunisia.

The Minister said that the celebration of Carthage Theatre Days is an opportunity to reflect on the future of Tunisia's theatre with all the challenges ahead and the needs to identify in order to meet the demands of globalization.

While focusing on the interaction between the theatre and the various forms of artistic expression, the minister outlined the various trends regarding contemporary theatre and its future in light of the digital revolution.

The first focuses on the importance of the digital revolution in adding more creativity in drama performance. The second, meanwhile, argues in favor of the importance of preserving the identity of the theatre in its classic form.
