There was no fanfare, no crowds and no speeding, highly-guarded convoys yesterday as the woman who has confessed to the murder of former army commander, Maj. Gen. James Kazini, was presented to the Makindye Grade II Magistrates Court where she was formally charged and remanded.
In less than five minutes the charge of murder was read to Ms Lydia Atim Draru and she was not allowed to enter plea as her case was of a capital nature."This is a capital offence only triable by the High Court. You are not allowed to say anything. Our work is to read for you the charges," said Magistrate Maxencia Namagembe.
