Uganda: Notu Twins With Egyptians

Kampala — The National Organisation of Trade Unions has signed a cooperation agreement with the Egyptian Trade Union Federation. The agreement which was signed in Egypt last week is aimed at exchanging and twinning of workers.

"We have signed a cooperation agreement to cement the relationship between workers and governments and promote a good working environment for Egyptians who want to invest in Uganda," Mr Wilson Owere, Notu Chairman General who led a the delegation to Egypt said on Sunday. Mr Hussein Megwer, the President of Egyptian Trade Union Federation (ETUF) signed the agreement on behalf of his organisation.

The Notu delegation included Secretary General Peter Werikhe, Deputy Secretary General Esalam Oloka, Treasury General - Sarah Katende, and a journalist Shamim Kalanda Tendo.

The delegation also had meetings with Egypt Minister for Water Resourcse and Irrigation Dr Mohamed Yasi El-Din Alan and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Maher El-Adawy.
