Nigeria: Group Honours Gani

A non-governmental organization, De Norsemen Club, has honoured departed legal luminary and human rights activist, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, with the Norsement Merit Award.

The post-humus award was conferred on the late icon during the group's national convention in Asaba, Delta State, recently.

Speaking at the occasion, the national president of the club, Mr. Bond Ohuche, noted that the post-humus award was in recognition of Gani's consistent and principled stand against repressive, oppressive and evil regimes.

He encouraged Nigerians to emulate the late legal icon and rise up against any form of injustice and crime against humanity.

While delivering his lecture titled, Nigeria Awaken the Giant Within at the guest speaker and former Vice-Chancellor, University of Benin, Professor, E.A.C Nwanze, enumerated the strings of challenges that were hindering Nigeria from attaining greatness.
