Nigeria: Crawford Varsity Holds Maiden Convocation

Crawford University, one of the private universities licensed by the federal government in 2005 and owned by The Apostolic Faith Mission will be holding its first convocation for the conferment of first and honorary degrees and award of prizes on Thursday November 19, 2009.

The event will hold at the main campus of the school in Igbesa, Ogun State The famous Choir and Orchestra of the Apostolic Faith will stage a special Convocation Concert in commemoration of the event.The concert begins at 10:00 a.m.

The graduation ceremony will be preceded by the convocation lecture to be delivered by a renowned scholar, Professor Oye Ibidapo_Obe, immediate past Vice Chancellor of University of Lagos and President. The Nigerian Academy of Science The lecture entitled: "The imperatives of learning, integrity and leadership attributes for sustainable national development", will hold on Wednesday November 18, 2009 at 12 noon.

One of the highpoints of the ceremony is the conferment of honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity (honoris causa) on Rev. Darrel Lee, President and Superintendent-General of The Apostolic Faith Mission worldwide

Meanwhile, a breakdown of the overall result shows that of the 175 graduating students, 9 students emerged with first class honours, 79 students had second class upper, 70 students bagged second class lower while the rest students had third class
