Uganda: Government Sends Relief Items to Rakai

Kampala — THE Government has allocated food relief to the disadvantaged families and schools affected by drought. The disaster and relief state minister, Musa Ecweru, told authorities over the weekend that the intervention was ordered by President Yoweri Museveni.

The President last week toured the district and found many schools closed and homes abandoned due to hunger.

The minister delivered 590 bags of maize flour and 370 bags of beans. A total of 50 bags of maize and 30 bags of beans were directly handed over to Mityebiri Primary School.
