The forth coming sixth edition of ION International Film scheduled to hold from December 9-12, 2009 in the Garden city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State Nigeria received a big boost with the announcement of Zain, a leading mobile operator, as the official telecoms company to the festival.

The festival, according to Caterina Bortolussi, Creative Director of Omcomm, producer of ION International Film Festival, the coming on board of Zain brand reflects the strong alignment with the goals of IONIFF Port Harcourt 09 to promote peace and global awareness through arts, culture and entertainment.

Zain's sponsorship of the first ever ION International Film Festival in the continent responds to the brand's corporate social responsibility objective of promoting young and emerging talents in the country through several schemes such as capacity building workshops and fora of discussions.

The brand since inception has been in the fore front of promoting Nigerian culture and entertainment; it has in fact recently sponsored the West African Idol competition and the MTV African Awards amongst others.

The event provides Zain the opportunity to express affection as well as reward to customers in the Niger Delta region and in Nigeria as a brand that is focused in fostering creativity and developing talents to create a wonderful world.

The four day event will bring together international artists, actors, celebrities and students from all over the word in the business of filmmaking. Starting from 9th December the city of Port Harcourt will come alive as the government and the people are ready to host the world of film makers.
