Abuja — Vice President Goodluck Jonathan is expected to commission the production lines of the new Peugeot 307 Sedan at the premises of Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited, Kakuri, Kaduna next Monday, Mr Toyin Akigbogun, PAN's head of corporate communications has said.
In a press statement, Akigbogun said that the commissioning is coming exactly one year after the commercial launch of the car was held in Abuja and Lagos.
According to him, in the last one year PAN has been fitting the 307 Sedan production lines to replace the hugely popular Peugeot 406 which has come to the end of production series.
The 307 Sedan production will produce an average of 22 units a day and 7000 cars a year, he said, adding that the brand will come in manual and tiptronic (manual and auto combined) gear levers.
Akingbogun also said that both the 1.6 and 2.0 litres engine models of the 307 are cars designed to withstand the rigours of the peculiar Nigerian terrain. He said the car adheres to the four distinguishing characteristics of the Peugeot brand which are style, dynamics, reliability and innovation.
"But importantly, its generous proportions sum up its architecture. This inclination to spaciousness is instantly evident in its interior and 500 litre boot space", he said.
