Tunis — Having hosted the meetings of the French Travel Agents union (SNAV) last October, the lush oasis of Tozeur is preparing to host the Congress of the Swiss Federation of Travel Agencies (SFTA) from November 19 to 22, 2009.
Held for the first time in Tunisia, the Congress will be inaugurated by Mr.Khelil Laajimi, Minister of Tourism and the president of the Swiss Federation of Travel Agents.
220 travel agencies representatives from Geneva and Zurich will take part at the event.
Alongside their participation to the works of the Congress and its General Assembly, the Swiss travel professionals will be briefed on the tourist potential of Tozeur.
The 4 day program, the program will offer participants several trips and excursions in and around, the magnificent oasis city and the largest tourist attraction pole in south-western Tunisia.
A 2008 survey shows that it is worth nothing that the average length of stay of Swiss tourists in Tunisia is 7.1 days and that Swiss tourist spends from 850 to 950 Swiss Francs. The survey also shows that 94% of Swiss visitors among the tourists expressed the intention to return to Tunisia.
