Namibia: Two Murders in Capital

TWO men have been murdered in Windhoek in the last few days.

Erick Shatipamba (28) was shot in the neck and died at the Katutura State Hospital at around midnight on Saturday.

He and six others had been involved in an altercation with another man in a riverbed between Ombili and Okuryangava, the Police said yesterday.

Three shots were fired, of which the third struck Shatipamba in the back of his neck. He was rushed to hospital and died there.

Two days earlier, on Thursday morning, Douglas Wilmmert (22) died instantly after he was hacked with a panga on the head and neck during a quarrel at Staanvas in the Havana area.

The Police reported that the suspect is known, but it is not clear whether an arrest has been made.

Police investigations are continuing in both cases.
