A motorcyclist, only identified as Zayzay, was smashed in a tragic accident yesterday when he was trapped while trying to overtake a 20-foot container along the Somalia Drive in Gardnersville.
According to an eyewitness, Zayzay got trapped as a result of his decision to overtake a moving container truck that was speeding towards the Free Port of Monrovia for contract.
Zayzay, who was said to be in his early twenty, was smashed by the truck after his motorbike rushed into the truck's fuel tank and subsequently dropped under the already rolling tyres.
Describing the incident, the eyewitness said the accident was disastrous and that motorcyclists need to learn from the mistakes of their colleagues to avoid the reoccurrence of such accident,
James Wreyou told this Paper that he was present, waiting for car to take him to work when he saw the boy rushing under the truck that killed him instantly.
Zayzay was carrying a passenger on the motorbike who also broke one of his legs. He was immediately taken to a nearby health center for treatment. The smashed remains of the late Zayzay has since been deposited at a local morgue in Monrovia.
