Harare — THIS weekend is awash with massive gigs that have been lined up across the country.
Revellers will have to brave the wet weather in order to enjoy performances by their favourite artistes.
And show organisers should have the foresight of having some tents on standby just in case the rain might mar and spoil the shows not only for them but also for fun-lovers.
The entertainment starved town of Beitbridge is set to come alive tonight when the King of Sungura, Alick Macheso along with Allan Chimbetu takes their act to Dulibadzimu stadium.
It will be the first time for Macheso and the Sony hitmaker to perform in Beitbridge this year.
The artist will be in this border town courtesy of Venus Promotions and would be supported by the Venus Crew.
Obviously one of the biggest gigs in Harare would be the one at Stars at the Rainbow Towers where top South African DJ Oskido would be playing tonight.
Local turntable wizards T Bass and P Styles will support him.
Fresh from hosting South African star Freddy Gwala, Sports Diner will this week play host to Dendera musician Sulumane Chimbetu starting with a show tonight.
Sister Jean and Mudhara Weeds of the Seasons Band will also show the stuff they are made of when they share the stage with Sulu.
Tomorrow, Sulumane heads for Mutangaz Hide Out in Ruwa where Chancemore, Dzarara and Tandarai Neshasha also use the same show to show the stuff they are made of.
Sulumane winds up his weekend itinerary with a performance at Holly's Hotel in the capital where Girls of Peace are the supporting act.
Rhumba groups will not be left out of the fun and Ngwasuma Boys BV Labien Musica will tonight storm Chavez Night Club in Waterfalls before invading Spes Bona Ngezi in Kadoma tomorrow night.
There is a surprise new dance group expected to feature at all their shows.
At Roots of Africa Restaurant in the capital fired-up Real Sounds of Africa Dream Team does what they know best tonight.
The outfit has become a favourite of many at the joint where they play every Friday.
Talented music diva Busi Ncube is unstoppable.
Tomorrow afternoon, she wows crowds at Phat Sam's Arts Lounge in the capital during the Beer Fest, where Summer Breeze will also alternate with them on stage.
There will be lots of activities for the whole family including jumping castles, face painting and candy floss, among others.
Sungura musician, Alick Macheso, diva Busi Ncube, Angelic Sisters, Last 'Tambaoga' Chiyangwa , Oliver Band and Goromonzi Culture Centre Mbira Group are expected to entertain the crowd that will grace Music Time Arts Village in Goromonzi on Sunday afternoon.
Other cultural activities are also expected to be part of the event.
