Nigeria: Anambra - Jonathan Heads Soludo Campaign

Abuja — In its determination to take ensure victory for Prof Chukwuma Soludo in next year's governorship election in Anambra State, the National Working Committee (NWC), of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday set up a campaign committee headed by Vice President Goodluck Jonathan.

The committee which will be inaugurated at the PDP national secretariat, Abuja next Tuesday, has as members, the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu; Deputy National Chairman of PDP, Dr. Bello Haliru Mohammed; National Organising Secretary, Prince Uche Secondus; National Woman Leader, Hajiya Inna Ciroma and Chief Whip, Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha.

Others are all PDP state governors from the South east, all PDP Senators from the South east, all PDP members of the House of Representatives from the South east, National Vice Chairman, South east, Chief Olisa Metuh; Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.

Prof. Ahmed Alkali, the National Publicity Secretary of the party said other members include, governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Isa Yuguda; governor of Oyo State, Chief Alao Akala; all PDP ministers from the South east, former Governor of the old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo; former Senate President, Ayim Pius Ayim, and Executive Chairman of Champion Newspapers, and member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.

Also on the list are Prof. Jerry Gana, Senator Femi Kila, Senator Onyeabo Obi, Henry Balogun, Arch. Onyeachi Ibezue, Chief Maduka Anene Olisa, Mr. Azubuike Eze, Senator Bala Adamu Kariya, Dr. Igwe Aja-Nwachukwu, Chief Cletus Ibeto, Chief Arthur Eze, Chief Simeon Okeke and Senator Mike Ajaegbo.
