There was anxiety yesterday over the state of health of the Executive Chairman of Globacom Limited, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jnr., who was said to have slumped in his office at Victoria Island, Lagos.
Daily Champion gathered that Adenuga has been indisposed for some time prior the incident. Unconfirmed reports however said he may be flown abroad for a medical treatment.
Efforts to confirm the report from Globacom failed, as the telephone line of the Head, Public Relations of the telecoms giant, Mr. Bode Opesietan, was switched off.
However, a reliable source told Daily Champion that "actually he has not been feeling okay, and this is a normal thing, especially with people at that level who are always preoccupied. It is nothing to worry about as he is in a good condition. But you know, being a man under constant publicity, anything concerning him is bound to make news.
Our source did not confirm whether there were plans to fly him abroad. Born on April 29, 1953, Dr. Adenuga has no recorded hurried instance for medical attention and this seems to be the first known case in his life time.
A former student of Ibadan Grammar School, Ibadan Dr Adenuga jnr. studied Business Administration at Northewestern University, Oklahoma and Pace University in New York.
An oil baron, bank executive and in the last six year, a telecom magnate, Adenuga jnr has taken his drag net of business to West African countries, including Ghana, Benin Republic and lately, Cote d'Ivoire.
Adenuga's Globacom recently announced the landing in the country of its Glo-1 submarine cable via Portugal.
Equally, Adenuga has big chunk of equity in Conoil, which serves as his only quoted company. Others are Equitorial Trust Bank (ETB). He has a large heart for philanthropy and has raised many from the rubbles of poverty to the pinnacle of riches.
