Nigeria: Gowon to Launch Book On Nigerian Family

Lagos — Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd) will on Friday, November 27, 2009 launch a book titled " Upper End of Marriage-A Happy Home" written by the renowned Dr. Violet Arene of the popular "Kith & Kin" programme the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Family Network Programme.

With the latest literary feat, Arene, a woman described by many as not only a mother, a grandmother, but a TV presenter, par excellence and a Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God; and a social counsellor has made an indelible mark that will stand the test of time in the Nigerian society-having previously authored "The Family Cradle" and "The Strengths of a Woman" among other publications.

Gowon, who is higly accaimed as a social mentor and father of the Nation is expected to add his enviable legacies and good word for "Happy Marriages and Good Homes in Nigeria" as the needed foundation for successful reforms and a happier nation, according to a statement obtained by THISDAY.

The author, who has twenty years experience in the Christian Ministry is well known for motivational messages, passion for women, empowerment, training for ministries, youth development, and evangelism has authored several Christian books including.: Tried by Fire, Hired by God, This One Thing, Love or Die, Personality Excellence and Family Cradle.

The launch will take place at the Lagoon Restaurant, Victoria Island Lagos.
