Rwanda/Congo-Kinshasa: DRC's Vita Raids Local Clubs

Kigali — DRC premier league side AS Vita has made an approach on Atraco's midfielder Johnson Bagoole and Kiyovu's defender Karim Nizigiyimana.

Cranes playmaker Bagoole has been in Kinshasa for trials with the club while Nizigiyimana left yesterday morning to undergo trials.

Former Rayon Sport coach Raoul Shungu, who replaced Irish Chris O'Longhlin as the club's head coach is seeking reinforcements to strengthen the Black Dolphins ahead of this year's Africa's Confederations Cup.

AS Vita officials are expected to fly in next week to start negotiations for the two players.

Shungu believes the pair can add steel to his side.

The Congolese born coach has set his eyes on this year's Congo Cup championship and Entente provincial football league titles.

Bagoole, a former Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) player, spent three years with Atraco during which time he won the 2008 league title and 2009 Cecafa/Kagame Club Cup.

Shungu who was sacked by the Blues on disciplinary grounds is still rated by many as Rayon's most successful coach having won them four league titles (1997, 1998, 2002 and 2004) and one Cecafa Club championship (1998).
