Gambia: Methodist School Receive Assistance

Banjul — George Town Trust recently assisted Methodist Lower Basic School in Janjanbureh,Central River Region (CRR) with funitures and building materials worth forty-two thousand dalasi (42,000) the materials was meant for refurbishment.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the head teacher of the school, Alhagie Bojang, revealed that last year the same Trust Fund assisted his school with materials worth about forty thousand dalasis (40,000).

He spoke at length on the donorÂ's contribution in improving quality and relevance education as enshrined in the education policy. He said the items will go a longway in improving the academic performance of the students, which is in line with the cardinal objectives of the National Education Policy 2004-2015. He hailed the donors for their humanitarian gesture.

For his part, the chairman of the Trust Fund, advised the students to take their academic work seriously. He urged the school management to use the materials for its intended purposes. The deputy headteacher of the school, Abdoulie Jallow also spoke at the ceremony.
