Namibia: Leo Sponsors Poly Students to the United States

Windhoek — Mobile phone company, Leo is sponsoring students from the Polytechnic of Namibia to attend a cultural exchange programme at Harvard College in Boston, Massachusetts.

The cellular communications company, leo handed over N$75 000 to the Polytechnic of Namibia this week. The exchange programme will take place from the the 7th to the 13th of February 2010. Speaking at the event, leo's chief coammercial officer, Chris Keeping commended the Polytechnic of Namibia for providing their students the opportunity to participate in this rewarding initiative.

"The Polytechnic of Namibia was nominated to participate in this Cultural Exchange Programme because of its high quality standards in education excellence and internationally recognized qualifications. It is because of such high merit that your students continue to immensely benefit and gain the necessary exposure".

Dr. Tjama Tjivikua, Rector of the Polytechnic of Namibia said the institution was extremely proud that students from the Polytechnic were the only ones from Africa invited to participate in this programme.
