Ghana: Samini Experience Ghana 2009 - Tamale Next

The 2009 MAMA African best performer, Samini, has rocked Kumasi on the first destination of his four nationwide tour dubbed Samini Experience Ghana 2009. He performed at Heroes Park, fore court of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The event brought together some other top notch musicians who helped in making the show a sell out.

Over 5,000 fans of Samini came to witness what the King of African Dance Hall, had promised them.

Seventy two crew members and performers stormed the Garden City and were hosted on Hello FM's drive show which was the team's first studio interview.

But this was after he had granted some eleven interviews on phone to other stations. He was shown round by the Kumasi based musicians, Okyeame Kwame, Lord Kenya and Bradez.

During his sound checking session around 3pm, hundreds of his fans stormed the event grounds to catch a glimpse of their icon.

When the gates were opened, the fans flooded the grounds damning the torrential rains that had earlier on hit the city.

The show opened with the all-female dance quartet Super Babes, who did a splendid mix of various dances, solos and "dance battle". They were followed by an outstanding stage act by R&B dude SL (Skinny Legend) and Zionites of Samini Music, who rocked the spectators with dance hall vibes.

The stage was then left for a minute each of freestyle by eight of Kumasi's best underground performers who were aided on stage by Kumasi's number one DJ, Andy Dosty.

Okyeame Kwame and Lord Kenya also gave a good account of themselves. Samini, the main act on the night mounted the stage at 10:45pm and comfortably performed for 78 minutes from a repertoire of old and new songs from his numerous albums.

He later did songs from Kojo Antwi and Bob Marley and ended the show with his number one song; 'Baby'.

The Samini Experience Ghana Tour has moved up to the North and would stopsat the Tamale Sports Stadium on the 28th of November.
