Tunisia: "Women's Soccer, a Model Worth Following"

Tunis — A seminar held in Tunis on Thursday on women's soccer, was attended by Mr.Thierry Regenass, FIFA Associations Development Director, Mr. Cyril Loiseau Development Director in Africa, Director of FIFA Regional Football Development Office and of Goal project for North and Eastern Africa Mr. Taha Ismaïl, a FIFA official in charge of women's football and Mrs. Marion Daube, an expert in marketing and communication within FIFA.

The event is organized by the International Football Federation (FIFA) and will run through November 22, 2009 with the participation of representatives of national federations from Algeria, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Libya, Madagascar, Mauritania, Morocco, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan and Tunisia, as well as delegation of foreign sports journalists on a visit in Tunisia as part of a media tour held by FIFA to make better known its football development projects across the world.

Mr. Thierry Regenass said that FIFA considers Tunisia as "a model worth following in so far as the development of the field of women's regional football" is concerned.

Participants focused namely on the role of women's football within the African Football Confederation programs, new technical trends of women's soccer and women- soccer-health.
