The management of the Koforidua Hospital, in collaboration with the Nurses and Midwifery Association (NMA), has organised a five-day training workshop for its staff.
The five days workshop, which was aimed at upgrading the knowledge of nurses, midwives, and other paramedics, was attended by over 122 participants. The participants were taken through topics such as 'Professional code of conducts, customer service, team work, communication skills, occupational hazards and safety, legal issues affecting the profession among others.
Addressing the participants, the Deputy Registrar of the NMA, Mr. Felix Nyatey, asked the participants to infuse principles in the discharge of their duties, in order to enhance their services to their clients.
On issue of poor human relations and disrespect to patients, Dr. Nyatey urged his colleagues to demonstrate a high level of respect and care to their patients, in their quest to access the facility.
He also tasked them to adhere to the rules and regulations of the code of ethics of the profession.
On his part, the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Dr. Obeng Apori, implored the participants to put what they had learnt to good use, as well as teach their other colleagues who could not attend the programme.
