Uganda: Okello Quits Ndere Troupe

Kampala — SAM Okello Okello, one of the brains behind most Ndere Troupe's classy dance and drama productions, has finally defected. Ndere Troupe and Okello seemed as conjoined as Siamese twins for the 25 years of Ndere Troupe's existence but word reaching us is that Okello recently joined National Theatre as its Production Manager.

That means the witty man will make sure that all the productions that take place on the National Theatre stage pass his critical test, a job he has been doing at Ndere Centre for the many years he has been in charge of training the troupe.

He is also a visiting lecturer in a number of US universities. Okello also stirred in The Last king of Scotland.

Finally, the 50-year-old Theatre gets a Production Manager.
