Nigeria: Ndlea Intercepts Tanker Allegedly Carrying Cannabis

Abuja — The Ogun Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Saturday said its operatives intercepted a tanker carrying weeds suspected to be cannabis.

In a statement in Lagos, the NDLEA Spokesman, Mr Ofuyeju Mitchell, said the consignment weighing 2,280kg, was seized following a report the command received on the illegal activities of drug traffickers in the area.

The NDLEA spokesman said an arrest had been made in connection with the seizure and investigations commenced. Mitchell quoted the NDLEA Ogun State Commander, Mrs Chinyere Obijuru, as saying, "Our surveillance efforts have been rewarded with the interception of this tanker." (NAN)
