Uganda: Samona Row Resolved

Kampala — CITY businessman Mukasa Kasawuli the proprietor of Samona skin products and artiste Matthias Walukagga have agreed to resolve their disputes out of court.

The two have been engaged in a row, with Kasawuli accusing Walukagga of composing songs aimed at bringing down his reputation and business.

The row reportedly started over a woman, Aisha Nabukeera, who was said to have been Walukagga's fiancé but was allegedly snatched by Kasawuli.

As a way of fighting back, Walukagga reportedly composed a song Ttuleppuke where he attacks a cosmetics business hawker who threatens his life over a woman.

The next song, Bwino W'omutembeyi, criticises the use cosmetics, which Kasawuli said were calculated at undermining his business.

The two on Friday signed an agreement before the Chief Magistrate of Mengo Court in which they agreed to resolve the dispute by not attacking each other.

Kasawuli's lawyer, Ambrose Tebyasa, explained that the agreement meant the two could now work in harmony and Walukagga would stage performances where he would tell the public that Samona products are harmless.
