Windhoek — Naija boy and the dreadlocked dude from Maputo are up for eviction this week and come Sunday one of them would be heading out of the Big Brother Revolution. I was only a bit perplexed as to why Edward nominated Itai only to save him when he was called to exercise that vote.
Monday night's nomination left Mozambique's Leonel and Nigeria's Kevin up for eviction, as the dramatic race for the US$200000 prize gets hotter and hotter.
After a day of nominations, which saw twists and turns as alliances melted away, Big Brother named Leonel and Itai as the eviction candidates this week. Edward - Head of House for the second consecutive week - was then summoned to the diary room to make his switch. His decision to save Itai and replace him with Kevin came as a surprise to many viewers as he had nominated Itai in the first place!
On a score I think it would be a strategy, which Itai one day would have to repay Eddie for with some sort of favour. I take it that Eddie realised that with Itai out he would be facing stiff competition from the two, so he rather set him up only to save him later.
This was a similar stunt that Quinn wanted to pull, but it backfired. However, in this case I say good thinking mate, Eddie, you do us proud. I am still convinced that Eddie will emerge the winner in this thing, if Kevin makes it out this weekend.
The nominations revealed serious insecurity and a lack of trust between the eight remaining housemates. Head of House Edward nominated Itai because of his constant talk about how much he misses his girlfriend. His second nomination was Leonel, for whom he thought it was time to "walk the plank", as he hadn't yet been nominated.
Geraldine based her nominations on trust, citing Itai and Leonel as the least trustworthy housemates. She and Itai have fought nearly everyday, which influenced her decision heavily. Nkenna also picked Itai and Leonel, basing her decision on the suspicion that they had nominated her last week, with Itai the chief instigator.
Itai's insecurities shone through when he nominated Leonel, whom he believes is trying to turn the other housemates against him behind his back. His second nomination went to Emma, because he feels he interacts least with her out of all the remaining housemates.
Mzamo was one of the few housemates to nominate according to alliance lines, siding with Edward and naming Itai as she felt it was his time to go as he had outlived his welcome in the house. She then nominated Leonel, saying that despite them being former Comrades in Arms, he nominated her last week and it was time to return the favour.
Kevin nominated Mzamo and Edward, saying that Edward is a threat and that if his plan works, one of them should leave this week with Edward unable to save both himself and his friend. Leonel nominated his romantic interest Geraldine because she hadn't been up for eviction yet and Nkenna because he really wanted to see her up for eviction again.
After nominations were completed, Leonel led the way with 5, followed by Itai with 4. Nkenna and Geraldine received 2 nominations each, while Mzamo, Emma and Edward received 1 each. Kevin - up for eviction this week after Edward replaced Itai with him - didn't receive a single nomination!
Big Brother Theatre School
This week's task sees the housemates playing characters and dressing up as part of the Blues Revolution. The housemates have to assume and maintain characters, which are part of a downtown Blues Club, which they also have to create. They must stick to their characters throughout the day, no matter what.
These are the new characters now:
King Vinnie (Kevin): Ruthless Jazz Club Owner, married to Mrs Vinnie, Mrs Vinnie aka Nikki (Nkenna): Cold-hearted and married to Vinnie for his money. Betty Bee-bopp (Emma): Sexy jazz vocalist with big dreams of becoming a superstar. Alburta Malahyde (Mzamo): Dodgy music agent, cigar smoking-gambling addict. Willie "Old Shoes" Smith (Edward): sweet, sober janitor employed in the club and calls everyone "sir" or "madam". Toots Jaxon (Itai): Charming saxophone player and ex-convict on parole, who's being seduced by Mrs Vinnie and most ladies. Donald "Dice" De Lancey (Leonel): Brazilian-born chef who's a bad cook and hates Mr Vinnie because he's always criticising his food.
Scarlet (Geraldine): Lady of the night - no man is safe when she's around, and no one knows about her two children.
The housemates seem to have taken the new task in their strides and have even wagered a complete 100 percent of their Sha-sha be enjoying playing characters and warmed to the task quickly. And all that remains is for Biggie to say let the show begin.
